zhong yao ma

1st menswear project! we were making a t-shirt, and decided to utilize my textile skills to make it something special. went into the silkscreen lab for 5 hours (not too shabby from burning the screens to printing without major snafus) before sewing class today (8.30-5.30).

sewed up with a collar and cuffs (a different color than the main shirting, but matching the subtle-print kanji) and everything! really happy with the way it turned out -- particularly that it fits me! woohoo! the placement of the logos on the sleeves is cultural corresponding: horse crest on the right for the west; kanji on the left for the east.

just need to finish the hemming. as i was on the bus back home did i realize this... i'll just have to make a new one and finish this one then

I love the way your logo works with the color scheme, but I admit to being a little torn on the busy-ness of the whole comp...
Roman numerals/letters look good to me on their own due to their simplicity while I like the background of repeated intricate kanji
But oh that bright red and gold is strong and refreshing visual jolt

at my midpoint review, one of the members of the inquiry was japanese and apparently their interpretation of the fabricated character is "large horse." make of that what you will
