went with a 4 color break-down for the final swatch. the prints from the previous post just didn't seem "finished," so i ditched the flesh (didn't work so well on that guy in the bkg with cornrows) and swapped in a green layer and the aforementioned white. it gives some pop -- particularly pleased with the highlights on the diagonal scoreboard
...and in other news, i finally got the califa print made up. a friend had a birthday about a week ago, so i worked out a small run of 3. i had grand visions of printing 4, plus another print on cloth...maybe next time

you did a mighty fine job re-imagining the comic page as fabric pattern. the touches of white and yellow on the final really solidified it. the next step in using comic panes on apparel is to break the panels out of the single-page rectangle.
ah, califia. i love that you have kept to your subtle mantra for design placement on female t-shirts: always highlight the nips. i guess it's redheads this time instead of jellyfish tentacles.
sly, sir, very sly.
i gave a copy of the califa to jessica for her birthday last week. this evening, she comes home and knocks on my door, "hey, did you purposely make my shirt to have boobs on my boobs?!" she seemed displeased. her boyfriend, gavin, walks behind her and gives me a thumbs up.
