here are two more from my crossing borders class. the first is based on the assignment "mapping" -- BUT not LITERAL mapping (our instructor stressed that point). i layered some 6 photos of myself over one another in a kind of 4 dimensional topography. plus included in there is an actual map of california (ca. 1785) and an obscured native american girl, who could in fact be islamic.
the second is the first in the final round of vocabulary terms. this one's "racism." the image is a negative of a photo i found of the "Murder of Jack Daw." I altered the tree a bit in Photoshop to get it to spell out the term in branches.

not to sound creepy or anything but the racism picture turned out beautifully...the colors and shapes actually remind me of a lot of chris applehans works...
