three sketches from my new (faintly) earth-toned sketch book. after a few tries, the paper seems a little too pale as my white gelly-roll pen is barely visible (can barely make out the date in the lower right). a fun profile tho; mmm...wispy neck hairs!
this poor lass got squished a bit to fit her onto the page. i've noticed in my figure work, the heads typically end up small and then i balloon out the lower extremities (really everything below the neck). this sketch seemed to invert those proportions...most curious. my whiteout's a bit too liquid, but it makes for some interesting pools of goop to move around the page as highlight.
decently pleased. hard to get that subtle skin softness...more pencils and less markers i'd think would help that. or you know, photoshoping. i think i made the spacing between her eyes a bit too large as well
i think i got the hang of the whiteout -- helps give some dimension to the bubbles. the gold pen is always fun to use, and i think complements the color palette well.

beauts! I see you've been enjoying the link quite a bit (i think i have some of those right-clicked as well)
heh almost didn't notice that it was an earthtone...for me the advantage of that medium is the ability to not have to draw in skintones and midtones, but your color sense looks like it overpowered that laziness. Just as well too since your palette is always so saturated and vibrant!
