major label debut

Yeegads it's been quite a month. I mentioned to costuming extraordinaires Chris and Riki that I was interested in doing a cosplay dealy and that this particular one would be great to do (the look is very...forgiving and somewhat appropriate for newbs like myself). Kind and patient souls that they are, they've shown me their ways and here's the product! Learned a bunch and had a great time doing it. Hope the product shows it ;D

damn mel, that mask is freaking awesome! the color staining and molded wooden piping strips...sweet! did you soak the wood strips before distressing them into the curved shapes? hee hee, and the ears..oh so pointy. the mask really relates the "wolf" aspect of the character (the snoutishness of the eye and mouth holes) and that mane...wild!

can't wait to see the whole thing in action! some bloody war paint on your face and blade would seal this deal!

jeez thanks! glad you like it. It was all thanks to the exceedingly patient and sage tutelage of my friend Chris, who also gave me generous use of his shop. Totally fun times.
And oh boy it was pretty cool to see it appreciated at ye olde con...I'm thinking the pics were like ~100 or so? Hahaha while in full costume face paint and all I met my boss. That was an awesome conclusion to a fun time.
