screen printed inks, with burn-out. the breakdowns are for a four-color process: red, light green, dark green, and burned out fabric (a chemical applied that dissolves organic fibers, leaving only the synthetic fibers to retain structural integrity)
discharge dye pulled through a screen. the discharge removes the coloring from the base fabric (in this case, the dark green is the fabric; yellow is the discharge)
screen printed over a black/white striped piece of fabric. the dark green was charcoal-rubbed from the cover of my sketchbook; the red from a cutting board; the yellow from a backpack strap
screen printed. oh the registration woes!
heat transfer. the idea was colored quadrants with different themes: blue stars, yellow stripes, green hoops (with logo detailing on the hoops), and a red map of the bay area. each quadrant was hand painted separately, then cut-and-taped into composition
reactive inks applied to the fabric to form the macaroni, then a screened green over to apply more definition
heat transfer on mesh
heat transfer. the bkg is a dark green (sage) but wouldn't show on the picture. lame. the inspiration being richtor readings w/ oscillating intensities
